Testing Methodology

Environment

Tests use disposable Windows 11 and Windows 10 profiles, known sample folders and non-sensitive data. We create controlled additions, modifications, moves, conflicts and deletions.

Procedure

We record the starting state, run Compare, capture planned actions, execute only the documented configuration, inspect the log and verify sample files at the destination.

Storage and network limits

Virtual disks cannot prove physical media behavior. NAS, cloud, SFTP and permissions can vary by provider and account. Guides state these limits and link to primary documentation.

Recovery verification

A completed job is not treated as a verified backup until destination files can be opened and a sample restore succeeds.
